Originally from Widnes, Cheshire, I found my footing for design in the John Lennon Art Building in Liverpool. When I started there, I recognised that I had a strong desire to work within the digital world of Graphic Design, and the simpler realms of Illustration. I thoroughly enjoyed the creative process of both subjects - Graphic Design has so much potential to expand a creative imagination thanks to the use of multimedia applications. Whereas, Illustration is beautifully simple in comparison, and it allows a designers personal art stye to shine through on paper.

After university, I decided to invest my time into both spaces as much as possible, even though I decided on Graphic Design from a course standpoint. Then in 2020, I founded my clothing brand Urban Squid Apparel Ltd to further my knowledge on running a sole business, and my knowledge on the Graphic Design industry's changing landscape. Skillsets including social media marketing, DTG printing, animation, and web design came into my lap during this process.

On the flipside, my love for Illustration went down a different route. In my business, I do use Illustration to sketch my print ideas before I ever start the design on Adobe Illustrator and/or Photoshop. I find that my best designs have always started life with pencil and paper first, and this process will definitely continue in every project. Outside of my business, I have also helped people visualise tattoos they wish to have, thanks to my Illustration background.
